Your data path
Every data category should have a purpose, an audience, a retention rule, and a user control.
Account, profile, session, trust, and technical data needed to run Spar.
Match, coordinate, secure, support, and improve the network.
Limit visibility and access according to purpose and sensitivity.
Review settings and exercise access, correction, deletion, or other rights.
Spar does not sell personal data. Profile visibility, exact weight, gym association, and discoverability have product controls, but some session and safety records must remain private operational records rather than public profile content.
Spar Network (“Spar”, “we”, “us”) operates the service and is the controller for personal data described in this notice. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to the contact below.
A participating gym is independently responsible for data it collects for its own membership, access, coaching, payment, CCTV, or legal obligations. Its privacy notice may also apply when you visit or book that venue.
We collect information you provide, information created when the service is used, and limited technical information needed to secure and operate Spar.
We use personal data to create accounts; show profiles according to visibility choices; calculate compatibility, ratings, and ranks; coordinate sessions and venue requests; send operational notifications; prevent abuse; investigate reports and disputes; maintain auditability; provide support; and improve reliability and accessibility.
Where applicable, our legal bases include performing our agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating a safe and trustworthy network, consent for optional choices, and compliance with legal obligations. We do not use consent where the service can only function by processing the data.
A public profile may be visible without sign-in and can be indexed or shared. A fighters-only profile is limited to signed-in participants, but it is not a promise that another user will never copy what they can lawfully see.
We use your selected controls for exact weight and gym association. Safety reports, private contact details, internal risk signals, and admin notes are not shown on public fighter profiles.
Spar and its providers may process data outside the country where you live. When law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful basis and assess the protection around the transfer.
We keep account and operational data while your account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes described above. After closure, we delete or anonymise data that is no longer needed.
Some records may remain longer when reasonably necessary for safety investigations, fraud prevention, dispute history, financial and tax obligations, enforcing agreements, legal claims, backups, and the integrity of ratings or audit logs. We use purpose, legal requirements, sensitivity, risk, and available anonymisation to set the period.
We use organisational and technical controls designed for the sensitivity of the data, including access restrictions, authenticated workflows, environment separation, audit records for consequential admin actions, and protected transport and storage where supported.
No system is risk-free. Keep your account secure, use a unique credential, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or harmful disclosure.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to be informed, access data, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, and complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
Some rights are not absolute. For example, we may retain a limited safety or legal record after an account is closed, or protect another person's rights when responding to an access request. We will explain a refusal or limitation where law requires.
Spar is not intended for a child to use independently. Where minors are permitted, parent or guardian involvement and venue rules apply. Do not submit information about a minor unless you have authority to do so.
We will update this notice when our product, providers, or legal obligations materially change. The effective date at the top shows the current version, and we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
Email our privacy contact to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or another right available under applicable law. We may verify your identity before acting on a request.
